You do so much for your kids.
Come do something for yourself.
Hint: it has something to do with your kids…!

It doesn’t have to be difficult.
And you don’t have to do it alone.

Are you engaged in a power struggles with your children?
Are mealtime and bedtime troublesome?
Do your children have difficulty getting out the door to school in the morning?
Are tantrums bringing you down?
Or are you simply looking to raise a grounded, capable child?

Come learn how Positive Discipline can help solve everyday challenges and bring some harmony to your family relationships.

Mary Lynn Fiske is a Positive Discipline Parent and a Positive Discipline Classroom Educator. She is the mother of two children.

On May 25th at 7pm, Families First will host New York Times best selling author Jancee Dunn for a reading from her new non-fiction book How Not To Hate Your Husband After Kids (Little, Brown). A former MTV veejay and Rolling Stone staff writer, her latest book investigates why she became so angry at her husband after the birth of their child and how they overcame the resentment that threatened to derail their relationship. She details advice from couples therapists, parenting experts and even an FBI hostage negotiator in this humorous how-to/memoir, while explaining the science behind things like why a baby's cry wakes up women at night and not men. Join us for an evening of laughs, parenting talk, and complimentary wine and cheese.

On Saturday, May 20 th , the Annual Spring Carnival will take place on Baltic Street, between Court and Clinton Streets in Cobble Hill. The Annual Spring Carnival is the principle fundraiser for Families First, a not-for- profit organization established in 1981 to provide families with children’s classes, workshops for parents, and an indoor PlaySpace. Parents, caregivers, and young children, six months to 5 years, find a warm and supportive educational environment here that prepares them to successfully enter the school age years. Other sources of support for Families First are membership and program fees, grants and donations. We would like to thank Ridgewood Savings Bank for underwriting assistance for the 2017 Spring Carnival. Proceeds from the event will be used to support parent/child education programs at Families First.
